Chasm

Chasm

A Poem by Carson Kramer

I do so wish
this chasm were shallow
an easier boat ride
a shorter flight
less lengthy walk
Alas
Not to be
This chasm has me as far away from you
as day from night
as today from tomorrow
This daunting, haunting chasm
contains a sea of sins
an ocean of open wounds
miles of roads of regret
This chasm is of considerable breadth
Though not unnavigable
incredibly intimidating
With much hope and longing
thoughts of successfully
sailing this chasm
and owning it
like an explorer of lore
an intrepid wanderer
I sail and soar this chasm.

You have come to the Nom de Plume, of the writer known as, Nipplegrinder. It was suggested that I would receive a more welcoming response, if I hadn't such a repulsive screen name. (Thank you, Lyn.) .. more..
