Beside Her Bed

Beside Her Bed

A Poem by Carson Kramer

The loose leaf notebook beside her bed
contained the dreams she carefully crafted,
meticulously melded
and ceaselessly sought.
Her heart, spilled upon page after page.
It contained her thoughts of surrender and longing.
It revealed her fears, and gave glimpse of strength.
It left her breathless to write these things.
She knew that this notebook
should never be read.
Day after day, she wrote
Night after night, she wrote

The loose leaf notebook beside her bed
Is still there.

How true it is that we lay our lives out in poetry...make believe or real....but most don't even know our names.

Being the poem refers to her in past tense, it begs the question...is SHE still there?

About
You have come to the Nom de Plume, of the writer known as, Nipplegrinder. It was suggested that I would receive a more welcoming response, if I hadn't such a repulsive screen name. (Thank you, Lyn.) .. more..
