Happy as a Trout

Happy as a Trout

A Poem by Carrie Manor

Happy as a trout,

swimming endlessly all about.

Through streams

of waters cool and clear.

Through the cravens,

around the rocks.

betwixt the sculpted roots.

Me and my companions,

such a hasty life we lead,

but all are good, well bred and happy!

yet so it seems,

we go everywhere,

but cease swimming never,

end up no where.

Swimming endlessly all about,

such is the life of a happy trout.

Swimming endlessly and about.

Munching little insects as they come ‘round.

Around, around the banks merrily.

Flick our tails.

Endlessly, ‘round about.

Such is the life I lead,

a dainty little trout.
