why does thou not come Father?A Poem by Carrie ManorGod who art thou my Father, come please! Come and be my earthly Father, how would you do so? I do not know. Ah! But, thou art so pristine. Divine, and pure. Gentle, gallant, wise, and loving. Certainly you would praise my mother! Love her, despite the circumstances. You would hold, and love us. And I your daughter, thou would teach me many things. Ah! God, kind loving Papa! Please! Thou art so richly divine, why does thou not give thyself a body, and come and be my Papa? Why cannot thou be my gentle Dad, loving, doting. Show me, all the lovely things, The grand splendor of your kingdom. Your home; Earth. Thou would not be ruthless, thee would be kind, would thou not? Thee shall not take to drink, and idly waste away. Ah! Might then we be penniless? That matters not to me. We shall have riches, and give them to the poor. They, who did not know, would think, this girl’s father is poor. Ah! He has the richest heart! My Father has the richest heart. Takes away the fear, warms my soul. Hug me when there would be a storm. God who art thou my Father, come please! Come and be my earthly Father, how would you do so? I do not know. Ah! But, thou art so pristine. Divine, and pure. Gentle, gallant, wise, and loving. Please! Thou art so richly divine, why does thou not give thyself a body, and come and be my Papa? Why cannot thou be my gentle Dad? And I your daughter? Thou would teach me many things. Ah! God, kind loving Papa! © 2011 Carrie ManorReviews
