Beloved AnnaA Poem by Carrie ManorInspired by the " Beloved Anna Polka" by Johann Strauss Sr. Whence Spring visits, and brings her children from yonder and way. Anna! Thy who hesitates to pick the violets. So tender, crisp.....Beloved Anna Whence Spring visits, and brings her children from yonder and way. Anna! Thy who hesitates to pick the violets. So tender, crisp, and tempting. Velvet soft, flushed with royal paint. Like thine eyes, aquatic pristine, of supple, clear, blue waters. Anna, whom pick the spring violets, whose beauty ‘art so rare and pretty. Deter the remark of a rose. Voice of an enchanted angel, harp of silver, trimmed in gold. Beloved Anna, doth whom waltz day and night away. Chorus, for this simple country lass! Fair maiden of innocent, and cherub charm. Make any person warmth in delight. Whose radiant visage make rain turn to sunshine, the puddles, sparkle, glimmer, gleam, dare not best mark thy shoe. Beloved Anna! Whom ‘art not mine to keep, Alas! I must share thee. Lass of lovely hand, who makes haste of thread and needle. Whom delicately turn page of book. Thee who strings pearls upon my heart. © 2011 Carrie Manor |
