The Righteous Night

The Righteous Night

A Poem by Carrie Manor

Let the darkness of night raise!

Let it be known to man,

that night and day have but one sovereign;

the sovereign of good!

the king of righteousness!

Does not one know,

that the sun and moon be the two eyes of God?

So, fear not Nox, whom rises upon the death of day!

Resurrection of the child morning,

whom blossoms into day,

and whom slowly withers to evening,

thence comes again her sister Nox.

To rear once again the infant day.

Reign! the moon, the forlorn one!

the one the kingdom of heaven praises.

Yet will man continue to quail?

Whereupon the stars, and darkness dawns?

Great concept! I love the way you use the sun a moon as God's eyes. You are a very deep and creative thinker, and you have a great way of wording things. Nice poem!

This makes me think of a myth and a good one. I like the storyline in this and like the excellent way you wrote it. It has a very excited and positive feeling except for the question is asks about humankind. Awesome poem!
