![]() La gentil Pere ( The Kindly Father) Part 1 of 2A Poem by Carrie Manor![]() A poem about a girl who longs for a dad who loves her and tries to find one in God.![]() La gentil Pére I know not what to write, my heart is is in such an ache! How could I dare say I hate him, when truthfully I love him so tenderly, adjacent to the heavenly angels. Yet it often troubles me, it seems apparent he chooses fine wines over me. The abyss of night fill the calls. The laughs fill in the holes. Yet, the brink of my troubled soul. Everyone has two Fathers, God I fear, has not a body, how hard it would be. To receive a Fathers’ embrace. Commence do I, to idly spend my time, looking for that Fathers’ embrace. How? I can feel God’s love in my soul. I question it. It isn’t the same as a kindly Fathers embrace. Guidance, wisdom, worldliness. Drink idle man, waste away! God has embraced my soul! That is the warmth I feel about me! My heart is so cold, it steals to salvage, it would matter not! Should we the poorest peasants! Be the richest monarchs! Should we tread upon the streets! Whether be we adorned in silks, or rags! We would walk through the ally ways! Ah, yes but I would have my dear Father’s arm! Blessed, unforsaken arm! Be when I am sad, kindly would your arms embrace! Sit and cry, yet I linger nevermore! Only thee look on! Be kind notorious man! I shall not judge you, for I love you! Yet all the while I prey for an embrace! Let my soul lay to waste! Hand me a louis, all should be well! Good sir, does thou love me? Live on! Let us all rejoice! Forsaken souls! Are there wretched devils? Let us change them! Let others bequeath them upon us! Still however, I long for a Father’s embrace! © 2011 Carrie ManorAuthor's Note
