The Unicorn

The Unicorn

A Poem by Carrie Manor

Some say he doesn’t exist,

roaming through forests. long and wide,

that he doesn’t wade in the waters,

But if you see a starry night,

do you know?

Those are the eyes of the unicorns?

Watching o’er us tonight.

They are the guardians of the past

sanctuary of the present,

the bearers of the future.

If thou ever 'art scared,

if thou 'art ever alone,

just breathe,

wait for the stars,

and many eyes shall watch upon you.

If thou does fear,

renounce all thous angst,

for the all knowing, and all wise

nay descries thy doings,

whether be they bad or right,

and when the clouds weep,

and cast the sun out of sight,

have thou made the unicorns cry?

Or rather they weep in rejoice,

for the seeing, bounteous

share of their blessings of life,

our shackles of redemption shall he break.

and sanctity shall he bring.

and at night under the shield of eyes

is when all the sins of man shall banish

sleeping dreamily until wake,

for are we  the children of the unicorn?

all that is good and kind,

could he spare? For since love for man is all shared with hate,

the holy horn may he allocate?
