Mental Obsession

Mental Obsession

A Poem by Carrie Manor

Mental Obsession

I think these things through

that I can’t see.

Demons my conscious throws at me.

They won’t stop

not until I succumb too.

On my knees,

my head strapped to chains.

I’m naked and it’s raining cold blood,

and when I lift my head to see.

It burns to live,

it burns to see

I shrivel to dust

and fly.

You can’t see me,

behind the bars.

I reach out to you,

but you think I’m just odd.

When I think its gone,

these nightmares make

me drunk

and once again

conscious forces me to succumb.

Carrie Manor
A rough start to this poem, I'm not sure in what kind of direction I want to take it, nor subject matter. but I want to expand on it.
