None of this was planned

None of this was planned

A Poem by Carrie Lynn

None of this was planned

None of this was planned--

To come back to you after months

and find stanzas still untapped.

Thought they'd gone dry,

but here I am in bed alone,

writing in order to return

to the time I was in bed with you

lying in the dark resenting

wishing I was in bed alone

so I could turn on the light and write.

Ha. I actually laughed when I read this because I know the feeling all too well of writing and being alone and then being with someone and wanting to be alone to write. I like the idea of that being put into words : do I struggle with loneliness or do I struggle with being with someone?
