A Poem by Carrie Lynn

I used to pour my poems into you,

like a musician whose entire album

revolves around the one who got away.

But now I have way more to say

than you would ever let me.

So I think I'll keep my poems now,

or at least give only a little bit at

a time to multiple rhyme-inspiring

partners until I find the next one

to pour a book into.

It's a weird thing -- heartbreak or pain causing art. And the constant searching for just the next "painful muse". I'm pretty sure I've ruined every relationship I've ever had on purpose...just to get some kind of writing out of it...and it always works. Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but that's what I took out of it.
