“Oh Nick, I can’t believe it. What are you doing here?” Claire finally said,
“Hi my name’s Zoe.” Zoe said shaking Nick’s hand. Nick just nodded “…Hi,” He said staring at Claire who was stifling down a laugh. “Well when you swam away, mum and dad were both heartbroken, but I knew were you were. You’re always talking about the laws on the surface. I had found you a couple weeks ago but then I was on this ferry…” Claire looked at him astonished, “The same ferry I was on?” Nick nodded his head, “Yeah and that crazy nutter that jumped in for your…friend went and sprayed all the rest of us remaining passengers with water and immediately the same thing happened to me than to what happened with your…friend.” Nick said looking Zoe up and down who was staring at him. “Anyway… lets get out of here.” He looked at Zoe and grabbed Claire’s hand and swam to the other side of the sea. “Wait!” Zoe screamed whilst chasing them. Nick hastily turned around, “What do you want?!” Zoe stared at him blankly, “I’m coming with you,” Zoe stated the obvious, Nick looked at Claire and Claire nodded. “But why?!” Nick asked Claire, “Well we’ve been through so much and we just can’t leave her here!” Claire said with a stare that penetrated through Nick. “Fine,” Nick mumbled. “Wait!” Zoe said, both Claire and Nick turned around, “What’s wrong now?” Nick turned around almost screaming the question. “Uh, how are meant to get out of here?” Zoe said taunting him. Nick looked at her like she should’ve already have known the answer. “Whirlportal. Duh!” Claire’s face brightened “Of course I should’ve known!” Zoe stared at them confused, “What is that?” Nick threw his arms up in frustration, “You explain it to her!” Claire let out a little giggle which made Nick give her an evil look, she immediately stopped. “A whirlportal is like a whirl pool except you think of the place you really and truly want to go and you’re automatically spat out there.” Zoe looked at her still dumbfounded. “Okay, well where are we meant to find one?” Nick let out a scoff but Claire ignored it, “We make it silly, whirlportals were created for mermaids…or merman in trouble.” Nick looked at Claire expectantly “Yes okay Nick I’m finished explaining, gosh.” Claire let out a sigh. Within minutes the three merfolk had organized a plan of action to create a whirlpool. “Now remember to swim clockwise,” Zoe looked at him dumbfounded and Nick knew he had to explain, “You see if we swim clockwise we’ll travel forwards in time although if we swim anticlockwise than we’ll go back in time got it.” Zoe nodded her head to afraid to ask any more questions. After a couple of minutes of praying to god, the three merfolk set off in a clockwise direction travelling as fast as they could. Within seconds of travelling over 500 kilometers per hour a whirlportal began to form. Claire and Nick hastily turned into the whirlportal and Zoe followed them not knowing really what she was doing. When they were in the portal the three merfolk saw two weddings a crown a coffin a lot of merbabies and lots of ticking clocks. The trio landed in the middle of Claire and Nick’s castle. “Claire…honey is that you?” Claire looked up to see her mother who had now aged quite a lot but that didn’t matter she swam into her mothers arms.
