Make Me New

Make Me New

A Poem by Carolyn Falls

I hand you a brush
and offer you tubes of paint and a palette.
I lay down on the cold white sheets
that will serve as a canvas
I need your forgiveness.
I need your love.
With tears in my eyes
I ask you to repaint my soul.
Cover the scars and pains.
Make me new.

You lay the brush down,
saying you don't need it.
You cover my body with yours.
The canvas no longer cold.
With a kiss, I am alive with vibrant colors.
With a touch, I am new.

Lovely! Wouldn't it be great if we all could find a fresh canvas to start over with.
