The Day After

The Day After

A Poem by Caroline Grimm
"

!!TW: Suicide!!

"

Ideally the day after I kill myself

My things would remain untouched

My page would sit empty

So would my seat

Life would continue

Things would be neat

I don’t want you to miss me

Not even a bit

Don’t even throw a fit

Don’t remember my laugh

Don’t remember my face

I left without leaving a trace

Don’t carry my memory

Don’t shed a tear

Don’t show you love me because that’s what I fear

I didn’t cry at your funeral

So don’t cry at mine

Believe me I am fine

I’m better now

And that’s the truth

It hurt me more than it ever hurt you
