Valentines day sucks
come on you know it's true
When your siting alone at home
with nothing better to do

You see all the guys out there
buying flowers for their girl
And you wonder what became of love
why it isn't in your world

But then you realise it doesn't matter
that it doesn't mean a thing
All this fuss about one stupid day
and all the pain it brings

Living alone has it's benifits too
no hassles, heartache or pain
Nothing more left to lose
and the whole world left to gain

So don't be sad
if you're all alone
When Valentines Day comes
don't cry or moan

Cause one day love
will come your way
And you'll miss the freedom
of your single days

I hate Valentine's Day too. Not because I'm single, but because of all the bullcrap hoopla that surrounds it.

For me it's Singles Awareness Day. I'm single, I'm aware of it, and I don't give a s**t.

And you're right. It IS safer to be alone. That's why I keep my heart locked in barbed wire and sealed behind a castle wall. Much better that way. Full points from me. Good job. :)

Valentine day. A good day for retail. Real love is shown daily. I believe only good reason for this day. Is the kids in school. Can send card of love without fear. Benefits of being marry and single. Lol...well you said it loud and clear. The fact is one day a year doesnt matter. Ive seen female friends receive flowers and jewelry on Valentines but in every day life the relationship sucks!! Extravagant gifts and flamboyant statements do not equate to a happy love life. Great view of the other side in this poem!!

most years i have not liked Valentines Day...i have had many that ended relationships...

bad things happened on that day, bad memories....but with good love comes a much better result...and it will come...

and i like your irony...when we have someone to share it with, we will long for the freedom...
