Waiting For Eternity

Waiting For Eternity

A Poem by Carolann Dowsett

I walk along
cobblestones of grey
As the light bleeds from the sky
and the night steals the day

Alone I wander
through an unearthly maze
Jumbled thoughts blind me
my mind is a haze

Fog envelopes
my fragile soul
Seeps into my veins
until I am deathly cold

I'm lost in the darkness
with no escape
All hope disappears
as I sit and wait

Wait for the day
that my freedom will come
When the darkness will melt
in the light of the Son

When joy will replace
the pain in my heart
When this life is over
and eternity starts

That was awesome. The stanza:

"Wait for the day
that my freedom will come
When the darkness will melt
in the light of the Son "

Just kicked me awake instantly and I saw what this was meant to say. I admire it a lot and it makes me wonder how personal this is to you. It's personal to me and a lot of my writing goes around the same lines that this has shown. Very good write and very beautiful. It's the light that shines in darkness.

your welcome
Carolann, this is sadly beautiful. Life is a long journey, filled with many pot holes and detours, but aslo filled with beautiful flowers and warm days. Indeed, the journey does end on earth and re-begin in a far better place. But we have to enjoy what we have and where we are the best that we can as walk through each day.

Very nicely done my sweet friend.

OK. You are welcome...:).....................................
A foreboding read, darkly passages yearning for a safe place to land, you've painted this deathly cold feeling of the heart with broad strokes Carolann, very affecting.
