Day After Day

Day after day she waited
but he never came
She sank into darkness
as her heart broke
knowing she would never love again

Shattered pieces of hope
shredded her soul
Leaving brutal scars
upon something
once beautiful and whole

It broke her in the end
the pain of this world
The suffering she endured
just from being a girl

The hands of evil men
ripped into her flesh
Destroyed her innocence
brought her close to death

But she bravely fought on
tried to hold on to love
To open her heart
learn once more to trust

But she was crushed once again
shoved into the dirt
Left battered, bruised, broken
and horrendously hurt

So she finally gave up
and laid down to die
Releasing a lifetime of tears
she had been too scared to cry

A Powerful write....very sad too. I often tell myself that God has a plan for me, even at times when I can't see it....it's the loneliness that gets to me sometimes...but I trust in God with all my heart...so in faith I stand strong. I wish you only the best in life and love too....=)

A very sad story of the disillusionment of love. Sometimes the world can be just too much for people which is incredibly sad also. I feel sorry this woman that she should take her life just because of men.
