I FallA Poem by Carolann DowsettI
drift aimlessly through a sea of distant faces a million souls who stare sightlessly into
the unknown
I
float among them as invisible as the air they breathe I am but a ghostly being a mystery to their eyes They look through me to
a place that is beyond my reach a place of which I do not belong Alone I play tag with the stars I reach for the heavens and
the touch of glory fills me
Unknown
untouched
unloved I fall I am watched yet unseen I scream yet
no one hears me I hold on to the heavens to the breath of glory that
has touched me
It is as a lifeboat in a stormy sea a lifeline to my soul I fall for an eternity through a world of heartless beings held together by a golden thread of glory The first stitch of life embedding
itself into my heart knitting me back together making me once again whole Silence surrounds me I am suspended in
an ocean of light The
glory of heaven engulfs
me I drift away into unknown realms of existence to places unknown to man I fall into an eternal sleep but
life interrupts me I try to ignore the fretful cries of those around me but their need is too strong I fight to the surface of my everlasting dream I fight to reach those I love to not give in to the temptation of
an endless sleep
Life calls out to me whispers my name I awake with the touch of glory entwining
itself through my soul golden
threads of sunlight dance
upon my skin
I am in a place filled with light and colour the aromas of life overwhelm me I breathe in the fragrance of a new day Needed yet alone I stand to face another day to drift aimlessly through
a sea of distant faces where
once again
