Falling

Falling into a well of despair

there is only darkness

no light exists there

 

There's no more tomorrow

and yesterdays gone

no point in trying

no way to move on

 

The light of promise

has grown too dim

dreams lay in shatters

hope is stretched thin

 

Oh show me an island

away from the world

a place of great beauty

the most treasured pearl

 

Show me an island

where I can be free

away from the longings

that torment me

I like the wish in the poem. Would be nice to find a far-away place to forget. Each of try to forget. I had left the country to escape memories. I had to return and face the memories. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
