Nobody Cares

I don’t want to talk about it

I don’t want to say

I don’t want to voice

that which brings me pain

 

I’ll be ok

you know

you don’t have to care

I’m used to walking alone in this world

with nobody there

 

No shoulder to cry on

no arms to hold

no one to cuddle up to

when the nights are bitter and cold

 

I’ll just keep deep inside

all the pain that I feel

anyway

all the years of abuse

no longer seem real

 

I’ve locked them away

in a dark secret place

So no one has to pay

no consequences faced

 

After all

what do I matter

I’m nobody’s child

I’m a loner

a vagabond

something untamable and wild

 

The world will keep spinning

whether I live or I die

not many would notice

only a few would cry

 

But I guess I’ll keep going

for the sake of the few

Though the scars are deep

from abuse old and new

 

Inside I bleed

from every rip and tear

But they all got away with it

because nobody cares

Loneliness is all that I'm feeling. Reach out there are people there all you need do is ask for some help in overcoming this pain and sorrow and feelings of worthlessness. I understand you lack self confidence in your being but as soon as you open up and remove this piercing dagger from your soul you will find inner peace. Very sad and am feeling slightly overwhelmed.

This is a very poignant and painful piece. If this is your experience I know someone close who was abused and who survived by not blaming herself and ensuring she feels pity for the perpetrator rather than long lasting hurt and anger.

Thank you, I don't blame myself and I have no bitterness in my heart, but still that doesn't change that what done was done. And a residue of it will always remain within me.

Hard pill to swallow this one. Writes to the same issues, know them all too well so this is extremely distressing to read. Maybe if we keep penning our thoughts and past grievances about what abuse really does to a person, eventually people will hear our cries. Poignant and goes right through the heart like a poison arrow.
