The Hounds of HellA Poem by Carolann DowsettI walk alone along a midnight beach with none but the stars as my friends I walk alone Into tomorrow’s world with no one my soul to defend As the stars disappear into the blackened sky the hounds of hell come out to play they stealthily move in on my tortured soul seems I have become their prey They hunt me down with such skill and ease they rip my heart to shreds tear into my soul piece by piece until there really isn’t much left Then with a gleeful snicker and the howl of the kill they run as one into the dark of the night boasting of the destruction that they have caused to one so innocent and full of the light © 2013 Carolann DowsettFeatured Review
