I Drown

I fall into your eyes                

swim in their depths

surrender to their beauty

 

They hold me captive

mesmerize me with their glorious light

draw me into a world unseen

a world of love and joy

of fantasy and dreams

 

I want to lose myself in your eyes

drift away on the gentle flow of love

that shines so clearly from within them

float away on the ebbing tide of passion

that burns so brightly from them

 

You hypnotize me with your gaze

break open the door of my heart

penetrate my soul

 

I try to hide but you find me

search me out with loving determination

claim me as your own

I try to run 

but greedily you steal my heart

take it

make it forever yours

 

I begin to fall

desperately

I try to control my descent

fear grips my heart

as love overtakes my soul

 

I long to embrace you with my love

but how can I

how can we ever be

we sit worlds apart

two lost souls walking different paths

to unknown destinations

 

Yet even as I fight to resist

my heart deceives me

it melts in your embrace

falls into the warmth of your love

until I am lost in a sea of emotion

just a child dreaming a forbidden dream

floating in the sweet joys of loves embrace

 

No longer lucid

no longer in control

I surrender to the waves of love as they engulf me

flood my heart and my soul

until at last

no longer able to fight

the raging ocean of love

that now consumes me

 

I drown

oh my, do i identify! this is magnificent! i love a good love poem and this certainly fits the bill. you make me want to fall in love all over again, but no! that pain is far too exquisite to experience again. the font is a little on the small side, but manageable to read. love this!
