What a bright welcome to your visitors, message in hand and more. Carola, your advice is more than logical, more than kind, more than everything perhaps. But we all learn or should, by the past this and that. It empowers one's armour, protects from rusting tears.. sometimes.
But that said, not complaining, life happens. So, must emphasize, the advice you;ve shown and offered will be held close. No kindness should be ignored. You chose to use 'yellow' as your words' background, and that is the all-giving joy colour..
Many thank yous for sharing your thoughts, you words and guidance. Take care, keep safe. Always.

The future's not ours to see...but what if it were, would we alter the course we're on, to change our destiny? I'm sticking with Doris..."whatever will be, will be!"

Yes, we need to keep looking forward, rather than back. But, of course, good old memories are a treasure to keep forever. We can't live in the past, but we can keep the good old days alive in our minds.

I think I am already in cognitive decline...
I don't know what is forwards and what is backwards.
But if I could just remember. mmm.
If only.
I had that single by Doris Day. It was one of the first 45 records my folks bought me when I was around 6...that was when it came out...
I played it quite a bit.
I really like this poem.

Dear Carola, your splendid sequel comes with a warning. Yes, we should all take heed and look to the future with no regrets. Your poem brought the lovely Doris Day to mind and that song in turn reminded me of my parents. They so loved her. Thank you for sharing your poetry with us. Have a great new day when it arrives.
