i'm trying to loosen up & be a bit more abstract, not easy for me. 😐 so i'm having a go at 'free verse' style.
however i didn't really enjoy this free verse writing, so i may not pursue it much further.

ahahaha i can't believe you are trying abstract and free Carola!! good on ya says i! ;) an examination of silence ... challenging to be sure .. so many times our silence is, as you say, not so silent ... there can be anger, frustration, objection, and dissent ... all in that tense and awkward silence ... your poem actually clarifies my own love of silence in your first couplet ... the state of "no mind" ... empty ... resting .. love the contrasts in your poem ma'am .. and with that .. i go silent

with my trying a bit of abstraction i'm still not really sure that my poem truly conveys what i'm trying to say, & because of this i don't really quite get the same writing satisfaction.

A very cute but clever write. Much enjoyed this. Nicely written. I love the creative background as well.

my only disappointment is prefacing the poem with what it is...
i usually will not read until after the poem...which happened here...and i was able to see a metaphor for for people who just never fight back....but some....like Maggie in "Everyday Use" have those silent victories.
really love "A vacuumed brain"---
Wonderful write....you may not like writing in this style...but you do it quite well.

the quietness in judgment is far more cutting than the aural type I have an aunt that used to give the most stirring "look" she said volumes in a glance and her single raised eyebrow was the stuff of zen priests I used to tease her about it until of course she raised it at me:) this is a pleasant thing to watch you evolve in your write and I would have to say I like it! the convey of it is heard in my ears Carola I am not the biggest fan of the justice system but it is a rung higher than the street corner variety

i'm not particularly confident with this new poetic style (new for me!) so i'm not getting the writing satisfaction as i would in my normal straight forward narrative style.
