thanks for reading & reviewing my poem. yes i get annoyed at the leniency our judges display at the expense of victims here in australia.
even more annoying is that these judges/magistrates do not have to account for their decisions, & they also have a job for life !!!!!
there are only 2 professions i know of where you are not accountable for you work.... judges/magistrates & the meteorologists who give out the weather forecast on TV or the radio.
i looked up your ethan couch case on wiki ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethan_Couch ) at least he did eventually get a small amount of prison time.

yes... but the whole defense is and was ludicrous >; {
I'm not informed enuf to comment on the criminal justice system here, but I just love that you have a well-defined point of view that you express with a powerful sense of yourself. I hate to make such a sexist remark, but here goes . . . sometimes women express their exasperation about various things in life, in terms of how it feels emotionally. But I applaud the strong powerful women (like you) who write an intelligent commentary such as this, & especially becuz you don't forget to express yourself artistically with strong rhyme & rhythm & vivid details to paint your view of things. In short, not just a rant, but a poetic rant! *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

hi margie, thanks for your review, they're always an interesting read & viewpoint.
from what .. read morehi margie, thanks for your review, they're always an interesting read & viewpoint.
from what we see on tv or hear on radio, criminals often just out on bail (& sometimes over zealous police officers) seem to be able to get off lightly or even entirely through our justice system, after injuring or killing someone. they go & live their lives, while the innocent victims are frequently left with debilitating & costly injuries.... & then they are supposed to just get on with their own lives... eh ?!?
the magistrates/judges after completing a day's work of penalty decisions that will affect someone else, calmly finish work, go home have drink & dinner & go watch TV, & repeat again the next day. they are totally unaccountable for their decisions !!! it sucks.
I don't know what you have to do to get into prison these days, but it sure is difficult.
Good lawyer, good social worker who claims he or she had a bad upbringing.
I'm just glad there's another law out there where you just bypass the criminal system.
Dear Carola, much wisdom in what you say. I also think our justice system is broken. There doesn't seem to be any consistency n the sentencing and often someone who has been responsible for wrecking lives, can virtually get away with it. I feel your frustration coming through. Too often you herar oh poor thing he had such a sad background. Well I'm sorry if you did it no matter what your background is then you pay for your mistakes a d learn by them. All good wishes for airing something I also feel concerned about.

yes the leniency towards the crimms really annoys me the victims seems to be overlooked!!
I agree Carola. My friend daughter was murdered in her front yard. A three month trial. My poor friend had to suffer. Reliving the lost of her daughter. Something wrong with the system.

how awful for your friend, my commiserations, coyote.
The justice system is very broken, as is the United kingdom, and it is only going to get worse under Boris the clown Johnson. This country has truly gone to the dogs as has its laws.

yes it's very annoying when criminals get off so lightly or are allowed to walk free.
Superb wording, fine meter, opinion put with subtle but strong emotions - all in all a fine and justifiable put down on law in this day and age. If a felon has sufficient funds or is provided by some foul deed to have them, justice becomes malleable by way of 'get-out of that' plausibility. In other words to sin is not the sinner's fault, whilst victims live with mental as well as frequent scars. This is a post that expresses awareness that should be clearly called from roof.tops.

from all the comments her it seems that justice for victims is a global problem. i think if many judges & magistrates were victims of crime themselves maybe we'd get a better justice result.
Justice isn't blind and most often it sees green and not the kind in the fields but the one that buys there meals! The form frame of this writing is very conducive to the lines meanings and the rhyme scheme is lovely I love a person with the guts to rhyme anonymity:) and a very interesting cadence in them as well. an enjoyable write here

he certainly doesn't need his presidential salary (i believe he opted to be paid $1 per year.) so he won't be dipping in & using foundation money like the clintons did to pay for their daughters wedding. (as a president she would've been an unmitigated disaster) trump's détente with north korea is clever.
no other president has ever brought to the presidency their talents of business before. your left wingers are doing everything to thwart anything he wants to achieve. could you imagine having to work in that sort of environment, most people would just cave in.
certain times needs certain types of personalities to serve their countries, that at other times wouldn't be so expedient. only in years to come people will realise how good he is for this particular time.
america is lucky to have him.
anyway that's just my opinion 🙂
