Life Is A Rigid Thing

Life Is A Rigid Thing

A Poem by Carly
"

Miscarriage, Relationships, Grief, Healing

"
Life is a rigid thing
It gives to and takes from
I was given
A life
And life was taken
From within me
And now I cling to the other half of the grief
And the other half goes numb
And we disagree
On the again
On the when of the again
On the if of the again
On whether our grief was punishment
For past
For mistakes
For intentions
For history
I want new life now
Life to fill the hole that life left behind
It's funny how we
Deal in different ways
Both right
Both correct
Both valid
Neither wrong
But choose we two
That create such strife
Such a rift
Such a cavernous void
Between two who already had such pain
Such torment
Such terrible luck

I lost
Turns to loss
And we two
Who made the one
Move apart in heart but not in home
And then what?
