We'd seen each other at work
But everyone looked the same
Another face I saw each day
Didn't even know your name

As time went by we talked more
You were quite interesting to me
Clever talk and sideways smiles
Felt easy in your company

Sharing thoughts of love and peace
Playing out each others dreams
Wanting to flee the suburban noise
Chatting underneath the trees

Our times together they got longer
Your company like a drug to me
I wanted more, it's you I adore
Like my soulmate, we're meant to be

But then i made a huge mistake
Explained how I felt for you
