If I Were Faceless

If I Were Faceless

A Poem by IThinkSoIAm
"

My friend sent me the first line &I tried my best to turn it into a poem.. Hope you enjoy!

"
If I were faceless
It would be the same as being faithless
Demons I can't see
Searching desperately for me
Through vision all things are made clear
If I didn't have my eyes would the whole world disappear
would all I once overlooked be looking back at me
Destroying the misconceptions about what it means to be happy
Avoid the broken mirror filled with nothing but lies
If I stare for too long my eyes become compromised
An old man stopped me one day to say Jesus is alive
Asked him if he'd been in the mirror for too long &sighed
Said it wasn't until he took it down did he realize
Looking only for what he wanted never what he need
He couldn't see the truth, so wrapped up in him no cause to believe
Only a fool thinks life goes as far as the eyes can perceive
It wasnt until he was faceless did he achieve the ultimate peace

I love the premise behind this. It's a very perceptive piece. I rather enjoyed the fact that in the end he was faceless. Nice work :)
