LifeA Poem by IThinkSoIAmA bunch of thoughts that came together nicely one night. Enjoy!
Confused faces
Disgraced innovators Tearing down the same foundations that made us Lost and alone because you embraced what enslaved us Wondering why where we created has no place for us Or the god we are praising has no face like us And the government we fight for is fighting to erase us For far too long ive been struggling to figure out But the man that I am praising has removed all my doubt Took away the pain with promises of struggling no more In return for my faithfulness he will open up doors No good could come of not serving him for he is the core The key to understanding what ever it is we wish to explore Beautiful brown skin yet still searching for something to adore Some how the message missed you When things get rough never pray for the storm to skip you Because only after a storm will the sun be able to shine Only after greats like Frederick Douglas could blacks have their time Only after I learned my history could I embrace it as mine And there is not a white man alive who could understand why we grind Why so many color people don't go to college and are afraid to shine And most black men make a living selling narcotics in and out of jail all the time Baby mothers and crack head brothers is all spectators seem to find Because ignorance is a hell of a drug turning even the wisest man blind So do yourself a favor in the midst of abusing time Figure out if you're living or just watching life pass you by © 2013 IThinkSoIAmFeatured Review
