The Lovers of GodA Poem by Carl Drake BarnardThe lovers of
God Deep within their
souls Two are formed
alike Riding to the
depths Saving one
another Caring for one
another As their souls
combine They formed
one of God's greatest The lovers of
God.
These are ones
formed by God's intent Irresistible
to their sweet reflect Opened to the
world with open arms Embracing all
children of god's intervention A loving
embrace they can't escape Ensnared by
emotions they've both declared And as they
resonate Their
souls collide.
Linking them
together As one forever But not by
love But by lust And soon their eyes Start to tell
the lies Captivated by
other lovers They start to
deflect.
With time
their anger ignites Soon there is
nothing left but lies As their hatred drive them apart They start to
indulge lust And resentfully
they divide And there
lusts resides As they fall
in love with The lovers of God. © 2014 Carl Drake BarnardAuthor's Note
