Fade

Fade

A Poem by Carl Drake Barnard

Fade

Silently amongst the trees

A bird takes flight within the cold breeze

The wind taking him higher

Overseeing all that has become brighter

Voices of life

Taking him deeper to the skies

Then he felt it the sound of cries

He pulls his wings in and begins to dive

He lands on the ground

And he sees a woman singing

The wind stopped and she looked around

Bringing him to see her sorrowing

Her tears began to roll down

He swoops in

Braking their fall

She looks at him remembering all

He looks around as the wind started to calm

And he noticed that she was gone

Part of him began to fade

For he realized that she wouldn’t return

I believe that's how you wanted it to say...
this piece has the feel of your title...as I read this verse..
.its tone is presented from beginning to end...

you're welcome...
Sad, but very good. :)

I love imagery in poetry, and this poem has an abundance of it.

Excellent job. Keep up the good work!

What a lovely sad piece. I liked the images of the bird and the description of all that was happening. Very nice work.
