He Bled For Her

He Bled For Her

A Poem by Carl

He bled for her

For the World to see

He bled for her

As he hung from a tree

Love unfathomable

The act of the Son

Asking his Father to "Forgive them"

"For they know not what they have done"

He bled for the victims

The Nation in haste

Hyssop and vinegar

Leave the bitterest taste

Forgiveness now flowing

Endless and free

But forgiveness begins

With you and with me

He bled for the yellow

The black and the white

The Arab and Jew

In their continuing fight

Offered life to a criminal

So it is said

As on that day

The World was saved by red

He bled for the girl

Who thinks life is not fair

So she picks up a needle

In her despair

And injects the liquid

To forget everyday

For the pain is too much

And it won't go away

He bled for the boy

Who is running away

For home was too much

So he just couldn't stay

And high on a hillside

Nails peirced skin

So that the addict and the prodigal

Could now enter in

He bled for the Mother

As another soldier dies

Her tears wet the desert

And the World hears her cries

He remembers her grief

As Victory's won

For God knows what it's like

To lose a Son

He bled for the World

And the World to come

From the youngest to the oldest

Everyone

He bled for what they had known

And for what they could know

And knowing the outcome

Still willing to go

An excellent story. I would have liked to see this at Easter; it's better than the little trinkety poems I wrote.

I feel proud when I read this, knowing how true it all is. You put it all together beautifully, I could have kept reading for a lot longer. Amazing, you are.

Pure genius. This is one of my favorites that you have posted. This stands for so much but most of all, Jesus dying on the cross for all of us to have eternal life. It's hard to imagine unconditional love but we have it and many of us just don't realize it. Life is hard and we endure it in different ways. It doesn't have to be as hard as it has - there's an answer to our prayer already. Easier said to accept than to do. Your words have great flow and your heart melts right into this piece. I can just say - I LOVE THIS ONE!!!!!

It is wonderful to want to express gratitude and praise, but I think the poem in and of itself needs a little work. Analogies of everyone (the whole world, youngest to oldest) are severely overdone.. Think about a fresh approach in expressing praise. You want to hook all readers with an original song. . . a mere suggestion.
