I've Seen Love

I've Seen Love

A Poem by Carl

I've seen love

In a clenching fist

I've seen love

Betrayed with a kiss

I've seen love

Turn and flee

And I've seen love

Nailed to a tree

I've seen love

Stand and fight

I've seen love

Cling to what's right

I've seen love

Forgiving and free

And I've seen love

Nailed to a tree

I've seen love

Upon her knees

I've seen love

In heartfelt pleas

I've seen love

Flow endlessly

And I've seen love

Nailed to a tree

I've seen love

In a baby's cries

I've seen love

In a mothers eyes

I've seen love

In every degree

And I've seen love

Nailed to a tree

Ive seen love

With tears on her face

I've seen love

Be abused and misplced

I've seen love

Staring back at me

And I've seen love

Nailed to a tree

I've seen love

Be no respector of class

I've seen love

Leave blood on the grass

I've seen love

In agony

And I've seen love

Nailed to a tree

I've seen love

In the sweetest devotion

I've seen love

Provoke such emotion

I've seen love

In humanity

And I've seen love

As grace flows from a tree

Love should bring freedom..........and you have seen every variation of love that there is, but some love binds and constricts, suffocates, hurts and finally kills, the use of the tree is clever, and thought provoking and as always your rhyming is fabulous!

This was very dark though you were speaking of love. You speak as if current experience is your motivation for this piece. Good rhythm. and good read.

Love in a clinching fist makes me imagine another willing to fight for what he/she loves. The love betrayed with a kiss fills my mind with Jesus and how one kiss was the ultimate betrayal.

"Nailed to a tree" is the best description of love in this piece. That sacrifice of love was mean't for mankind to have the choice of choosing eternal life.

This piece has multiple descriptions of love. I always get a tear in my eye when I hear of the love of a mother. Your words touched me and I was happy to see sentimental words. Keep writing and inspiring because your talent for words continues to grow.

This speaks to my understanding of the ultimate love, the one that paid the ultimate price of accepting the joy and pain of being human and of carrying the scars of guilt and separation from Love so that we can all go home at last. Thanks!
