Balance

Balance

A Poem by Carl

I move to pass this resolution

Before we all choke on the polution

So as the T's are crossed and the I's are dotted

Isn't there a flaw which we all should have spotted

Are we to deaf to hear the planet crying

Or dumb to notice that the planet is dying

Renewable energy is the ultimate goal

A miners hands smooth through the lack of coal

As the foundry and face have now become clean

And the lamp went out to exstinguish a dream

While deep in the forest another tree falls

To make newspaper, furniture or a houses four walls

Mans logic and thinking are hard to conceive

If we loose all the trees then mankind can't breathe

And we burn to forget all the damage we've done

So that the sky's full of smoke and we can't see the sun

And when the sun shines we all start to fry

For our gas and emissions put a hole in the sky

This in turn melts the ice so the seas start to rise

And still we ingore the planets choked cries

Will no one take notice or will we all start to drown

As a wave that is tidal engulfs a small town

But through the dust and and the smoke and all of the haze

We have a chance in this day and age

To respect all our rivers our lakes and our seas

Nurture and tend our forests and trees

So that the balance with nature is once more restored

And this planets beauty can once more be adored

So much wisdom in one writing.. everything you write is true and not without solutions. The issue is the solutions do not create the QUICK money or future job creation that the powers that be would like. The cutting of trees.. there's an easy solution.. here in Canada and US they do control burns..to control forest fires.. why not use those trees instead of burning them to control those fires? (just a thought).. replanting 2 times as many in a more barren location. Those trees were doomed to die during the control burn anyways.. and we save homes and insurance companies money.. saving the insurance payors on increases.

The ozone is being depleted.. by MANY things including space travel.. this one has me a bit upset cause we owe money.. are still exploring for what cause at this point? If you go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaceflight there is a section that shows under Environmental Considerations when you scroll down.. that shows that many rockets poke holes in the ozone.. so I think there is a combination of things to consider there... as well as the space debris floating around the outer earth's atmosphere.. which on that site is considerably downplayed for what it really is.

I found this to be a great freestyle full of insight of realities.. that we need to wake up to if it's not already too late.. can't consider that option though.. need to try to find solutions.. worldwide. If the powers that be would think.. there is job creation and money in the cleanup.. as well as in renewable energy. It's a great time for change I think! Bravo!

So elegant! Using a little punctuation or spacing could help even out the poem's rhythm. Other than that I think this is solid work. Great job!

Clever. So many believe we are resolved as a Universe. It is time we stop living for the moment and realizing just what the "Big Picture" is and that is to take care of what God so lovingly gave us. You prove, in your words, that the definition of "Being Worldly" needs to change from being a part of the moral decline which thus breaks down what we have left of this beautiful world. We need to become worldly by taking care of Mother Earth. Children need futures and we need to leave this world knowing we made it a better place.

You have a natural writing style - and I love your freestyle poem. The reason your words are so natural is because each of the words you pen come from your heart, which is full of empathy and pure realization of the facts. The ozone being depleted starts and could stop with the heart of man changing his ways. The change of heart needs to come. Good words, Carl! You rock!
