Inspiration

Inspiration

A Poem by Carl

Inspiration came to me

In a flowing red dress

"I've come to inspire you

But first I must confess

I'm partial to piano

It sets the mood just right"

And as Inspiration began to sing

I began to write

She sang of a nation's heartbreak

And another nation's greed

She sang for all the children

Who are left alone to bleed

She sang about the violence

That's found in every town

And she called to us as poets

To go and write it down

She sang about the break up

Of a marriage and a home

She sang about the children

Who are left so alone

She sang about the victims

And I could hear their cries

And as she sang in heartfelt pleas

Tears formed in her eyes

She sang about America

And for a generation

She sang with such sincerity

About the woman I call a nation

She sang of her past mistakes

She sang for her alone

And as Inspiration sang

Her words matched my own

She sang for the planet

And that there's just one Earth

And how her rich resources

Mean much more than they're worth

She sang about the climate

The rivers lakes and trees

And how the Earth is dying

But no one really sees

She sang about the future

And all that it may hold

She sang that it is ours to take

And that we must brave and bold

She sang that much had been achieved

But there was still so much to do

And she sang that the mantle had been laid down

For poets just like you

Inspiration finished her song

Heartfelt and sincere

Full of ferver and passion

Full of hope and fear

Inspiration closed the piano

The end of our time had come

Inspiration left the room

Mine and her work done

And the music plays on about a poet that that sings the song of change!

WELL DONE POET... well done!

Inspiration in a red dress..... I'm envious. :O) Ask her if I can borrow it when I go to the Opera one day....

I think this has to be one of my favorites from you. The way you gave a heartbeat to "inspiration". She is a live.... and sounds as if she does wonderful things for you. However, you are very deserving.

Through this write... if I didn't know you.... I would say you have a strong sense of what's right. You understand the true passion of your heart... and you allow it to guide you through the masterful work of words. Inspiration is meant to relate with. Not only have you related to it... you have embraced it.

We live on this world for quite some time.... and it's people like you who we are meant to come across. You have the heart of purity... the past of understanding... and the future of great success. I am so proud to call you my friend.

Inspiration may sing..... but you make it a duet. ;o)

I can't express enough how wonderful you and your words are.

This is wonderful! There's not a line I couldn't or wouldn't select as being the best.. it's all so fine and sincere, the underlying emotions and sensitivity are incredibly human ..

Thank you for sharing. :-)

WOW, I wonder how long this took you to write!?
You did the most beautiful, thoughtful write I have read all week!
This flow out my mouth, out in the open and sang as well
The rhyme was smooth like butter, strong like an storm rushing from you.

You should be very proud of the piece. It could be an spoken work!
Love this my friend!! Please fill free to send my your work!
Inspiration is the key from people who are willing to share like you have here!
