Consider This

Consider This

A Poem by Carl

Consider this

A Nations pain

As she begins

To cry again

Tears now streak

Her beautiful face

Consider this

Her strength and grace

Consider this

A Nations heart

As she is called

And set apart

To tell the world

"All men are free"

Consider this

Her dignity

Consider this

A Nations dream

As she strives

For things unseen

A fervent desire

For all to see

Consider this

Her history

Consider this

A Nations past

As she speaks of Shiloh

And a Civil War blast

Arlington Grange

And a lost generation

Consider this

Her birth as a Nation

Consider this

A Nations place

In the world at this time

As things move at pace

Afganistan Iraq

She belived she was right

Consider this

A Nations fight

Consider this

A Nations scars

At the hands of guns

Bullets and cars

The streets erupt

As the fists start to flow

Consider this

A Nations Ground Zero

Consider this

A Nations calling

To encourage others

And stop them from falling

To learn from mistakes

So that others may see

Consider this

Land Of The Free

I love how you are able combine emotion with patriotism.

No human could withstand the hurt "she" feels. Well written with lots of emotion.

Way to go! Write on!
