Skin

Skin

Collabration With LiLi

Carl

We can't get past this skin ordeal

So it's time to write what we really feel

Racism is a cancer that has just grown

It's not about pigment genes and tone

Tone is a colour to cross the divide

Why cover up why try to hide

Be proud of your colour the skin you are in

Be proud of your unique melanin

But race is an issue and it's raised a fist

Another one added to the mortuary list

Colours and tones fight to defend

As I sink to my knees where will it end

Heritage and culture in a peice of ground

In coloured diversity hope is found

It's not about loners or boys in da hood

But working together for the greater good

The merging of colours in the fullness of time

Here's my sister LiLi to continue this rhyme

Li Li

Too long has there been seperation

And now is the time for revelation

For more to see the value of face

Pay more attention to the spirit than the race

All of us brothers and sisters through time

Too long has racism been the cause of a crime

Too many lives lost all because of what is seen

Not many paid attention when MLK had a dream

Beauty lies further than the visual supplied

The colour of skin shouldn't be the cause to divide

If one man can create and love us all

Then why can't we honour him and stand tall

One heart

One mind

One blood

United

How can we adore the colours of mother nature

But when it comes to nationalities we are short sighted

A brilliant collaboration. You have both done a wonderful job with this with a great message - the colour of ones skin should not matter. Excellent!!!

GREAT JOB!! you both are excellent writers, it's as if you merged into one in this poem. I could see this in like a People magazine, in a really good periodical about race. Def way above average. thanks for giving me the opportunity to read this.

Reverberating message clothed in brilliant words!

Imagine a painting in only one colour!!! How BORESOME that would be!?!

We have differences in characters, in opinions, in tastes ... why not in skins?!?

Babies around the world cry in the same language ...

Wonderfully done. Has a terrific rhythm and profound message...

Thumb up for the both of you!
