Cycle of lifeA Poem by CariThe child becomes a womanThere is a woman, There is beauty in her sadness and courage in her tears Despite her inner struggle she conquers all her fears She bleeds, she aches and yet blossoms with grace You can see the toll of life in the lines upon her face She gets by, she gets through, she conquers all She is brave and keeps busy, no task too tall. The clock chimes, the time has come She walks away, she is gone Light is lost, life is lost, time too short An angel called backed home. Forced to let her go, forced to accept that life cannot be held, cannot be kept Suddenly a new woman ahead I see Take a closer look that woman is me. My mother is now gone but her lessons shall remain Etched into my soul, blended, a permanent stain and the cycle begins once again... There is beauty in her sadness and courage in her tears Despite her inner struggle she conquers all her fears She bleeds, she aches and yet blossoms with grace You can see the toll of life in the lines upon her face She gets by, she gets through, she conquers all She is brave and keeps busy, no task too tall. © 2015 CariAuthor's Note
