A child's ode

A child's ode

A Poem by Carewell Kasilag

There was a shield in my head

A protective light overhead

Beneath the pale gray sky

I thought, there was nothing to fear.

You spoke of dreams embroidered in gold.

Speak of the world as if it was your diamond.

The fire was burning bright--

Too much,everything turns to ash.

I feel hatred for what was deprived.

I hate the charity that you provide.

The walls have been destroyed.

Everything is now in ruins.

I wonder why the sky was blue.

When everything scary has now anew.

I thought I could trust the blinking bulb.

The truth--now I see--it made my heart,in pain, throb.

A amazing journey in your words.
"I wonder why the sky was blue.
When everything scary has now anew.
I thought I could trust the blinking bulb.
The truth--now I see--it made my heart,in pain, throb."
The above lines. I liked the realistic view of the words. You left the reader with something to think about. Thank you Carewell for sharing your excellent poetry.
