A child's odeA Poem by Carewell KasilagThere was a shield in my head A protective light overhead Beneath the pale gray sky I thought, there was nothing
to fear.
You spoke of dreams
embroidered in gold. Speak of the world as if it
was your diamond. The fire was burning bright-- Too much, everything turns to
ash.
I feel hatred for what was
deprived. I hate the charity that you
provide. The walls have been destroyed. Everything is now in ruins.
I wonder why the sky was
blue. When everything scary has now
anew. I thought I could trust the
blinking bulb. The truth--now I see--it made
my heart,in pain, throb. © 2016 Carewell KasilagFeatured Review
