No Black History Month

No Black History Month

A Poem by Careless Dreamer
"

Just a thought...

"

For as long as I could remember, I always celebrated Black History Month.

But as time passed by, I acknowledged it even less.

Personally, I feel that there should not be a Black History Month.  Why do

we get 1 month out of the year to be celebrated? And why is it the month with the

least number of days?

Even in this day and age, we don't get the respect that we deserve.

Black people have made contributions to this country for many years,

all year long.

So instead of accepting what society has deemed as a period of time for

us to celebrate our own, I move that we acknowledge all of our brothers

and sisters anytime they do something positive that uplifts the community

and creates a milestone in history in which we can speak of.

BLACK POWER.....
