Sigh of Persephone

Panting is her heart of immortality

As the hands of night grasp her whole

For at this moment the underworld rejoices

As Persephone’s in his hold

A sigh of caution; forgotten but to be heard once more

For the goddess of spring is in distress

Sheer cold covers the land

Of the paradise that she left

No words leave from the maiden’s lips

There was nothing but a sigh

With her hand held high, leaves fell

As she bids the crust goodbye
