Window Pane Songstress

A sweet melody comes from her red lips

Red as her heart is black

A tune of misery a burning

Sings the one whose soul has been trapped

Nothing’s sweeter than freedom to her tongue

A blissful nightmare of bars and chains

There the songstress sits in pain

With a smile of despair on her face

To do there’s not much for the songstress

A bird whose wings cannot fly

With her lips unusually redder

She sings her last lullaby
