We are not everything we love.
Our hate, our fear,
that is what defines us.
That is how we define our lives,
and that is what we allow,
consciously or not,
to control us.

I really enjoyed this, and agree with the sentiment entirely. To often do we make decisions rooted in fear, of not being accepted, of failure, of a million different shadows, rather than just turning around and facing the light. Great poem !

Go for it! It's certainly a very interesting book whether you agree with it or not, but personally, I'd have to say it's my favourite.
