Can you feel the sun setting?A Poem by CaraLynnA poem of pessimism vs. optimism
A light haze of orange fills the sky, giving warning-
You know darkness is coming. The air turns crisp and there is no longer warm rays to comfort you. Surfers line up to take advantage of your darkening light. The waves are crashing louder and bigger until youre drowned by intimidation. The water rushes the shoreline and wipes away any trail of life left behind. The ball of fire has sunk and no strength you withold can make it reappear. The sky is now dark but it has left behind the intense burn of its colors and the weakness of a dying day. The shadows lay heavy on my shoulders. Do you feel it? The haze is not a warning, but simply a beautiful glow of nature. It is a backdrop for photos, proposals and the beginning of nightlife. The surfers wait in anticipation of a thrilling ride into the night. The loud booms of waves are not deafening, nor harmful, they are peaceful. The water kisses the shoreline and replenishes the sand below. The resting sun reenergeizes to reveal its strength that will come of a new tomorrow. The sky is now dark but it has left faith in a bright future. The radiance of dawn is uplifting. Do you feel it? © 2014 CaraLynnAuthor's Note
