Under the Moon

Under the Moon

A Poem by Caraline_Nelson

"

We walked outside,

hot cocoa consumed.

Went on an adventure,

out under the moon.

On our way, found a playground

with nobody there.

Hopped on two swings

and started to share.

We told stories of youth

and looked up at the stars.

Then he kicked off one shoe,

and it went super far.

We sat by a bench

near a river and stared.

Talk about life

with his face in my hair.

He gave me a hug

and then with a wave.

"Please do drive careful."

“Let me know when you’re safe.”

I am aware that this poem didn't need a rhyme scheme, and may sound a little Dr. Suess like. Personally, I liked this style for this piece I think it captured the whimsical magic of the night.
