ElsenessA Poem by Caradoc…
The Hatter tips his hat
In fond remembrance Of Tea once shared In the wilds of Wonderlands Long past A wink of the eye To the Alice of Memory Though the Elseness is all gone He still recalls dreams of madness And fanciful flights once flown Over Dream Land Hills And the waters of the deep Reflections of Stars No one had ever known Beds of bone And the silence of stone Where longing lovers lay A place found only in the Beauty Of Creation’s Cradle Where Poets yearn to play The Hatter remembers the pain The Sunshine once took And the Shadow of Alice As she disappeared that day His heart troubles him only once Or twice Or no more at all His pain was swallowed by a Queen Whose madness mirrors his own Her laughter undoes all So the Hatter winks again Alice, may you find the joy the night time took And a Moon to guide your way A destination anew Happiness for Dew New Stars that lovely few Ever have known Lay no more in that bed of bone It’s far too uncomfortable a throne Remember this Only the best Ever Dwelt within our Vaunted Halls Of Elseness © 2024 CaradocAuthor's Note
