Shade and Shadow

Shade and Shadow

A Poem by Caradoc
"

Not the flame I want to be, but perhaps it is enough just to be me...

"

Beyond the smiles
The mirthless laughter
Masked by the clever banter
I saw the shimmer of night
Glossy and opaque
I saw the shadows lurking in your eyes
If I only had some sunlight
To grant to you
Chase that darkness away
Perhaps I cannot ease your troubled soul
As I have only Shade
But maybe if I focus all that pain
I can make it something beautiful
A candle flame to light our night
Flickering fire fraught and bright
Burning just beyond their sight
Guiding our way on through the black
A tiny ember wrought of Shade and Shadow...
