Could Have Been

Could Have Been

A Poem by Caradoc
"

...

"

emotion runs too deep
in a heart not meant
for this

it aches from the bleeding memories
not of what was
but what might have...

the feeling of those arms around me
scent of red roses in the air
a flicker of pain in mahogany eyes
timber of the voice I long to hear

the trembling lips I yearned to taste
sun kissed tresses streaked with crimson
and chocolate, I wish
i could have touched

did you see the longing in my gaze
and did you mean what you said

or was I the fool I feel I am
who believed the lie
his withered heart gave

if we should meet again
two shadowed ships
still Lost in the Night
will you remember me

or am I alone
haunted
not by what was
but what Could Have Been...

Ah sweet Caradoc your poetry as always delights and soothes me. Sweet melancholy. So many eyes and only one review. - crimson and chocolate and something magical - I've missed you

Wow... This is darkly mesmerizing. The tone is raw, yet somehow soothing. Bravo!
