And at length I do find

A soul would have its mate,
With which to intertwine.
But is it only ever two
That can become one?

In friendship and in love...

Can a soul feel ardor's burn
For two or three;
Could each be a matching piece?
Or does it lie?

Will a heart yearn for more,
With any kind of purity?
Or is it merely a delusion,
A spell cast by foolish mind?

Yet it beats, it beats.
Ever still it aches,
With a truth;
Fate without destiny.

And a will to wonder...
Why?
