My friend, my friend, how the years have been unkind. Where once we were as close as blood, Time has worn away our bonds. We used to share our secrets, our dreams, and pains. And now, we barely share a hello.
My friend, my dear old friend, do you miss it? The laughter and the tears, The hopes and the fears. I would lean on you, and you on me. We would guard one another, From the hands of misery.
Old friend, old friend, reconcile with me. Tell me all the harsh words And the bitter nights are as nothing, Before the bond we share.
Old friend, dear friend, I forgave you long ago. Can you find it in your broken heart To forgive me?
This is sad... I have a few of these old friends from so long ago that I wish I could reconcile with. It is hard to think of the times shared, laughter, conversations that have past and know that hard feelings have erased them. Fantastic poem, Cara ... Truly well done.

I was talking to someone and we were reminiscing about old times and all the people we've lost contact with or simply aren't as close with as we used to be. Part nostalgia, part remembering joy, lots of sadness, and regret. If only hearts were as easily mended as cuts and bruises.
